Valorant is quickly one of the biggest esport games in 2021, so now is a great time to get the upper hand against your opponents so that you can reach the rank you deserve. While your aim and game sense are always going to play a big key in how your team performs, there are still some other factors to consider when playing. In this guide, I will be going over the 3 win conditions in Valorant.

Eliminating All the Opponents

The simplest way to win a round I Valorant is by eliminating all the opponents. Doing that will automatically result in winning the round unless the bomb has already been planted or detonated that round. To optimize your chance of doing that it is very important to work together with your teammates.

Detonating/Defusing the Spike

Detonating the spike (bomb) results in the attackers winning the round. The best way to play after planting the spike is to defend the spike, instead of searching for opponents. By doing that you minimize the risk of accidentally giving the defenders the upper hand. It takes 4 seconds to plant the spike. If the defenders manage to defuse the spike then they are automatically given the round win. It takes 7 seconds to defuse the spike from start to finish, but it is possible to half-defuse the spike and let someone else defuse the remaining half. When you start defusing the spike you will give an audio cue. In higher levels of play, it is not uncommon to immediately stop defusing, which is known as “fake defusing”, to try to make the enemies peek you.

Time Running Out

If the timer runs out without the spike planted then the win is given to the defenders. Planting the spike after the timer has run out will not change anything. As a defender, you should try to waste the attacker’s time as much as possible.
